2023-2024!

The following schedule is tentative and subject to change, depending on enrollment.

*New this season: the Teen combined class has been separated into 3 individual classes: Ballet, Tap, and Jazz to allow more attention be given to each foundational style.

We have continued our scheduled 5 minutes between most classes to allow for smoother transitions between classes.

Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grade classes are each an hour long combo class where young dancers are taught the basics of dance movement in the two most foundational styles: ballet and tap.

The 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th Grade classes, will begin to dive deeper into ballet and tap foundations and technique, as well as begin working on more complex aspects, and also will begin some jazz dance basics.

Teen Ballet continues to delve into the technical aspects of ballet, and works on engraining good technique, which is essential to ensure safety and success in not just ballet, but all other styles!

Teen Tap, dedicates more time to this intricate style, which will really help dancers progress in their tap skills and coordination!

Teen Jazz will cover a wide variety of jazz concepts and tricks, from isolations and progressions to leaps and turns.

Beginner Pointé and Pointé is extension of ballet, where dancers are trained to dance in toe shoes, or pointe shoes. Because beginning pointe training too early, before the dancer’s body and technical understanding of ballet is developed enough can cause injury, it is very important that dancers do not try pointe work until directed to do so by their teacher. Pointé is by invitation only. Dancers taking pointé must also be taking either the 5th/6th grade combined or Teen Ballet class.

Musical Theatre/Technique 1& 2 (Musical theatre 1 for 1st-4th Grade, Musical Theatre 2 for 5th Grade and up) taught by Miss Angela and Mr. Demetri, will work on dance technique as well as the musical theatre style, which is a primarily jazz style (but style may vary) of dance that emphasizes facials and acting out specific characters through their dancing.

Hip Hop 1 & 2 (Hip Hop 1 for 1st-4th grade, Hip Hop 2 for 5th grade and up) are taught by Mr. Demetri. Dancers in this class will be exploring the different styles and techniques of urban dance, and hip hop, including gliding, tutting, isolations, and some break dancing. Dancers should wear comfortable, non-distracting clothing that covers the knees (such as tights, leggings, or sweatpants that do not touch the floor). Girls should have hair pulled into a pony or similar style. No down hair permitted.

Acro 1 & 2 (Acro 1 for 1st-4th grade, Acro 2 for 5th grade and up) taught by Miss Angela, uses the Acrobatic Arts curriculum (a renowned Acro program in the dance community) to ensure safe practices while beginning Acro training.
